This 1998 Lotus Elise is the fourth of 21 Sport 190 series-one examples produced for the US market over a two-year production run by Lotuss Sport Special Vehicles Operations. Power is provided by a mid-mounted 1.8-liter Rover VHPD inline-four paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, and features include an integrated roll bar, adjustable suspension, and a fire-suppression system. Additional equipment includes a drivers racing seat, safety harnesses, a quick-release steering wheel, a master cutoff switch, and a fabric bikini-style top. This example was acquired by the current owner from its reported first owner in 2014, and service in January 2020 included fluid changes as well as replacements of the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, and battery. Now showing just under 500 miles, this track-only left-hand-drive Sport 190 is offered with a copy of the manufacturers certificate of origin, a 1998 sales invoice, specification sheets, a Lotus Certificate of Vehicle Provenance (LCoVP), a fuel-filler adapter, and a bill of sale.
This car is finished in Calypso Red (B03) and is one of three examples produced worldwide in the same color for the model year per the included LCoVP. A black bikini-style top is included in the sale and pictured in the gallery below.
Staggered-diameter split-spoke wheels measure 15 up front and 16 out back and wear Yokohama Advan tires in sizes 185/55 and 205/50. Competition springs and Koni dampers were fitted at each corner as factory equipment.
The cabin features a bolstered Corbeau racing seat for the driver and is equipped with an integrated roll bar, a master cutoff switch, and a fire-suppression system. Six-point harnesses are provided for both the driver and the passenger.
The leather-wrapped Momo steering wheel is fitted with a quick release and fronts an 8k-rpm tachometer and a 140-mph speedometer. The digital odometer indicates just under 600 miles.

The engine produced a factory-rated 190 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox.
